For Tonya and Michael
Where are you now?
I sit alone at night and wonder,
In moments of reflection,
Gaze out the window and recall …
Where is the time?
The turning of years like pages,
The chapters of a story,
We tell each other as we live …
And each day we become,
Who we were - who we were all along,
And we find out in time,
As we write our lives,
Where we must be
And with whom we will share
Where will you be?
When the day begins once more,
Changes make us new,
Remind you how you came so far …
So far from where you were,
Now you look at the horizon,
See which way the future goes,
As you reach your own crossroads,
And so we find our way,
Toward our dreams and desires,
And that’s all there is,
That’s all that I know,
Where you are now,
Is where you must be,
Know that I care,
As much as can be,
And where you are,
Is where we are,
Now.
